We all "need" to be needed. It is a basic "Fact of Life". God help us to let those around us know how much we appreciate them. Help us show them that they do fill a need in our life, especially our senior adults who endure so much loneliness during their last days.

--- There's Nobody Here To Hold ---

I Guess I Should Have Known
This Would Be My Last Home
They Moved Me Here 'Cause I'm So Weak And Old
I Look Around And See
All The "Shaky Hands" Like Me
But There's Nobody Here To Hold

There's Nobody Here Who Needs Me
To Hold Them In My Lap And Read A Story
There's No One, I'm Told, Because I Am So Old
There's Nobody Here To Hold

The Dining Hall Is Dim
Not Much Light Gets In
The Old Tile Floor Is Worn Down To Its Soul
The Bathrooms Aren't So Clean
But My Saddest Thing
There's Nobody Here To Hold

There's Nobody Here Who Needs Me
No "Young Broken Hearts" That Need A Hugging
There's No One, I'm Told, Because I Am So Old
There's Nobody Here To Hold

Now All I Have Are These Memories
Of The Ones That Meant So Much To Me

There's Nobody Here Who Needs Me
To Love Her In The Dark Like It Used To Be
There's No One I'm Told… I'm So Alone
There's Nobody Here… To Hold

ABOUT THIS SONG

I wrote this song on very short notice for a Taxi Dispatch listing. An upcoming movie was needing a sad "end of life" song for a specific scene. The scene was to be in a "rundown senior citizen home, showing the neglected residents in their not-so-great living conditions.
